CM/ECF Release Notes for Trustees (PACER Users)

The Bankruptcy Administration Improvement Act of 2020 (BAIA) went into effect on January 12, 2021. The BAIA added a new subsection (e) to Section 330 of the bankruptcy code, which established a new payment for chapter 7 trustees in addition to the existing payment the trustee receives when a case is closed.

Chapter 7 trustees must file a certification of eligibility for payment under 11 USC 330(e). (See the docket event below.)

Notes:

The trustee may file a certification in a closed case without the need to file a motion to reopen.
When the trustee files a certification in error, the trustee must withdraw the certification. See Withdrawal of Trustee Services Rendered Pursuant to 330(e).
