Filing Fee Deferred

Rev. 03/25/2024

When a filing fee is deferred, the case administrator performing QC must docket the below event to place a private remark regarding the deferment.

Note: In a Chapter 7 case, when the trustee files a pleading/document that requires a filing, the trustee should enter "Defer" in the receipt field. A motion to defer the filing fee is not required. The filing fee is due in chapter 12 and 13 cases unless the trustee files a motion to defer the fee. See Motion to Defer Fee.

Docket Events:

The event prompts for the fee amount and the docket entry number for the pleading or complaint incurring the fee. It also places the DEFER case flag on the public docket.
